Últimamente – Recently/Lately

We normally use this word with the pretérito perfecto.

Let’s make a review on the Pretérito perfecto.

First, we conjugate the verb “haber” which is the auxiliary verb:

Yo he
Tú has
Usted ha
Él ha
Ella ha
Nosotros/as hemos
Ustedes han
Ellos/Ellas han

Then we use the action verb in participio. The participio usually ends in -ado or -ido.

amar →  amado
ir → ido
comer → comido
hablar → hablado
comprar → comprado

We have some irregular verbs too, for example:

decir → dicho
hacer → hecho
ver → visto
escribir → escrito

You can find the conjugation of any verb here.

Now let’s make some sentences!

  1. He estado muy ocupado/a últimamente.
